CI-126 “Top Four Primary Initiative” – Constitutional Amendment

  • Yes Vote – supports creating a top four primary election system for Governor, Lt. Governor, State Legislators, State Executives, and Congressional Offices in which all candidates must run in one primary and top four vote getters would advance to the general election regardless of party.
  • No Vote – opposes creating a top four primary system and therefore maintains the existing open partisan primary system.

CI-127 “Majority Vote Required to Win Elections Initiative” – Constitutional Amendment

  • Yes Vote - Requires that - governor, lt. governor, attorney general, secretary of state, auditor, superintendent of public instruction, state legislators, and congress -   must receive a majority of the vote (instead of just a plurality) to win the election.
  • No Vote – opposes requirement that candidates must receive a majority of the vote, and thereby maintains the plurality vote system (candidate with highest number of votes wins).
  • Oppose – Vote No
